Visited yesterday. The castle is splendid to look at from afar but very disappointing on the inside. Really overpriced for what is really just the exterior walls of a castle and a dated, very small museum. Even if the wall walk had been open I would recommend saving your money and having a nice lunch in town instead.

We went today 26/02/2025, the weather was not the best, cold and wet, to be honest we were very disappointed, it is just a wall, with a cafe, if you are old and infirm, you will probably be unable to get up the spiral stairs to the wall, also there is a very dangerous part at the start of the stairs which should have a gate, as there is a very deep drop, on a nicer day the view's would be amazing.

Very interesting visit. Beautiful views from the walls walk and specially impressive views from the moat.
Enjoyed the lunch on the castle cafe.

Went in January so the castle was closed unfortunately, but lovely to walk round the outside. Plenty of places to eat in Framlingham too. Very pretty.

Really informative and enjoyable. The free audio guide definitely helps to make it feel more immersive when you are walking around the curtain wall. I learnt a lot and had a fun visit.

This is a spectacular castle, so much history, beautiful surroundings, and the staff are so nice and helpful, well worth a visit.

Closed during the week for winter but has a nice trail around the castle and the Mere. Pop up to the town for a hot drink or a pint

Brilliant such a beautiful view from the top of the castle. Staff were so kind (I have some mobility issues and they helped me with access to the ramparts)and were really knowledgeable. We went in school holidays and there lots of fun activities for kids. Absolutely recommend!

Love taking my grandchildren to Framlingham Castle - they all love it. The food is great too!

Framlingham castle is looked after by english heritage and a special mention must go to the volunteers who were all excellent. The car park is quite small and on both visits I have got there early to guarantee a space. The castle has a fascinating history though there are no rooms full of treasures to see. The real treasure is the wall walk which circles the castle, something that is quite rare and offers a defenders view of the castle , while the dry moat walk will offer an attackers view. Overall a cracking castle and the nearby church is also worth a visit
